Joe also builds and races his own cars.

Over a period of 12 years, Joe won eight SCCA National Championships driving cars designed and built by Huffaker Engineering. Joe won the GT5 Championship driving his Mini in 2000, 2001, and 2002.  He won the F Production championship driving his MG Midget five times.
