Huffaker Engineering,
working
with the ACS Express Racing Team, governed by SCCA World Challenge GT
guidelines, developed a performance package for the Ford Mustang,
including a full carbon-fiber body and a homologated racing engine for
Ford products in the World Challenge Series.
Starting with the Ford GT's 5.4 litre engine, we have
built a 6.0 litre version that SCCA has approved as the
new Ford configuration for the Mustang Cobra, and other
Ford makes, to compete in the GT class. The engine is
normally aspirated, with a single inlet for restriction
to equate the engine's performance to others in the GT
series. The Ford Mustang Cobra body was designed, built,
wind tunnel tested and proven by ACS Express Racing.
The SCCA Speed World Challenge is an
exciting professional race series for production-based automobiles. The GT class
includes the likes of Corvette, Cadillac, Porsche, Viper, and Pontiac GTO.
Visit the
SCCA
World Challenge GT site for more information on the series,
and the
ACS site for information on Mike Davis, owner/driver of the
first car of this development.
